In 1988, Dave Foley played trumpet with the “Disneyland College Band” in California, where he began playing the Akai “EVI”, a midi wind-controlled synthesizer. In 1989 he developed a wind-synthesizer with a fingering system of his own design called the “Foleyphone”. Dave also plays saxophone around the Minneapolis area and has recently recorded an album with the group “Judi, Cliff and Dave” called “Ballads and Bossas”. He has worked with various organizations such as The Wolverines Classic Jazz Orchestra, The Damn Fine Line Band, George Faber and the Icons, The Cedar Avenue Big Band, R Factor, Synergy, Metro Jam, Stay Tuned, The Stud Bothers, Moore By Four and many others.
